Visas

Visa fees are waived for children 16 years accompanying their parents. However, children with passports from countries falling under the referred list or travel documents should apply for a visa.

Application for visas can be done either at:

The website www.kenya-evisa-online.com  is NOT affiliated with the Kenyan government in any way and is NOT authorised to process or issue evisas to any applicant. Do not apply for an evisa through this website.

For applications at the Embassy, be sure to present the all the required documents. NB: Applications not meeting the above requirements will be considered incomplete and will not be accepted.

Formalities for visa issuance at the Embassy

  1. Visa application form 22
  2. Valid passport (minimum of six months validity and at least two blank pages)
  3. A  photocopy of passport
  4. Photocopy of residence permit for non EU nationals
  5. A photocopy of return ticket or flight reservation
  6. 1 standard passport size photo (homemade photos will not be accepted)
  7. Visa fee:   40€ in cash
  8. For a business, an official letter from the employer must be produced

Applications by Post should also include:

  1. Money order of 40€ (cheques are not accepted)
  2. Self addressed stamped envelope (registered mail tariff) for the return of the passport. The envelope must have sufficient return postage

NB: Applications not meeting the above requirements will be considered INCOMPLETE and will not be accepted.

Formalities for East African Tourist Visas

  4. Photocopy of residence permit for non EU nationals
  5. A photocopy of return ticket or flight reservation
  6. 1 standard passport size photo (homemade photos will not be accepted)
  7. Visa fee:   80€ in cash
  8. For a business, an official letter from the employer must be produced

Applications by Post should also include:

  1. Money order of 80€ (cheques are not accepted)
  2. Self addressed stamped envelope (registered mail tariff) for the return of the passport. The envelope must have sufficient return postage.

Formalities for Referred Visas

  1. 4 copies of Visa application form22
  2. Valid passport or travel document and 4 copies of the same
  3. 4 passport size photographs
  4. 4 copies of applicant’s residence permit
  5. 10€ being visa processing fees
  6. For a business visa, an official letter from the employer must be produced (4 copies)
  7. For a tourist visa, a letter of invitation and a photocopy of the identity card of the host must be produced (4 copies)

Applications by Post should also include:

  1. Money order of 10€ (cheques are not accepted)
  2. Self addressed stamped envelope (registered mail tariff) for the return of the passport. The envelope must have sufficient return postage.

The Embassy will contact the applicant once it receives authority to issue the visa from the Department of Immigration in Nairobi. The applicant will then be required to pay 40€ for a single journey visa.

NB: Applications not meeting the above requirements will be considered INCOMPLETE and will not be accepted.

Formalities for Multiple Journey Visas (one year)

  1. 4 copies of Visa application form 22
  2. Valid passport and 4 copies of the same
  3. 4 passport size photographs
  4. 4 copies of applicant’s residence permit (non Eu nationals)
  5. Proof of travel to Kenya at least 3 times in the last 6 months (photocopies of visas)
  6. 4 copies of official letter from employer
  7. 4 copies of letter from business partner in Kenya
  8. 10€ being visa processing fees

Applications by Post should also include:

  1. Money order of 10€ (cheques are not accepted)
  2. Self addressed stamped envelope (registered mail tariff) for the return of the passport. The envelope must have sufficient return postage

The Embassy will contact the applicant once it receives authority to issue the visa from the Department of Immigration in Nairobi. The applicant will then be required to pay 80€ for a multiple journey visa.

NB: Applications not meeting the above requirements will be considered INCOMPLETE and will not be accepted.

Formalities for Courtesy Visas

This visa is issued gratis to holders of diplomatic or service passports who are travelling to Kenya on official duty. Documents required are:

  1. Visa application form 22
  2. Valid passport (minimum of six months validity and at least two blank pages)
  3. A  photocopy of diplomatic or service passport
  4. Note verbale from embassy stating purpose of travel
  5. 1 standard passport size photo (homemade photos will not be accepted)

NB: Diplomats and government officials on private visits to Kenya and who are nationals of countries that require referred visas, shall have their visa applications referred to the Director of Immigration Officer, Nairobi, for approval, in the usual manner.
