Call for volunteers – 2011 Homeless World Cup
The 9th edition of the Homeless World Cup will take place at Champs de Mars, Paris, France from 21-28 August 2011. 64 national football teams will unite to compete at tournament to change the attitude towards and fight against homelessness through football. The Women’s Homeless World Cup will be the biggest yet with twelve nations represented by an all female side, including reigning champions Brazil and newcomers Scotland and Canada. The tournament is supported by legendary Arsenal FC manager Arsène Wenger and ex-France international footballers Lilian Thuram and Emmanuelle Petit, both World Cup winners.
Kenya will be represented by a men’s and women’s team composed of 20 players. The organisers of the 2011 Homeless World Cup and Kenya Embassy in France are seeking at least 4 volunteers who will serve as guides for the players during the tournament. Each volunteer will receive:
- A navigo pass for zone 1 and 2
- A 48 hour museum pass
- Volunteer gear
- Lunch at the Military School
