The Kenyan Embassy in France, wishes to inform all Kenyans in France of the 35th edition of the Paris Marathon that will be held on Sunday 10th April. As you may know the record holder is Vincent Kipruto who finished the race in 2 h 05 min 47 sec in April 2009.
This year, out of the top 26 elite athletes registered for the race, 13 are from Kenya. More than half of the first ten arrivals are usually from Kenya and we often take home at least two of the three medals for the men and a medal for the women.
We are highly encouraging the Kenyan community to come and support our runners and promote Kenya’s visibility during one of the most prestigious marathons in the world. The race starts at 8.45 a.m. at Champs Elysées, and given the race route the best meeting point is at the Princess Diana Statue – M° Alma Marceau Line 9 at 9.30 a.m. This is a vantage point to cheer the runners half way through the race. Supporters can then go to the finishing line at Porte Dauphine to cheer the first arrivals.
The Kenya Embassy also cordially invites the Kenyan Community to visit Kenya’s stand at the Running Expo – the running exhibition that is held at Porte de Versailles prior to the marathon. Entry is free of charge. Details are as are as follows:
